IAHA Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

  • IAHA is committed to being an association that includes lawyers of diverse backgrounds and fully utilizes their talents to provide legal services of the highest quality.

  • IAHA will employ effective methods of recruitment of diverse persons, and will support the success and advancement of members of diverse groups within the IAHA.

  • IAHA is committed to fostering understanding, communication and respect among all people in the health law bar, including people of different races, religions, ages, genders, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, national origins, sexual preferences or orientations, medical conditions or disabilities, and marital, veteran or family statuses. IAHA believes it should capitalize on the strength emanating from these differences.

  • Drawing on the talents of all of the Association’s personnel and members helps to create an optimum health law bar, one which can attract and retain diverse personnel and clients, allowing it to enter and serve varying markets and approach services to its clients more creatively.

  • IAHA has the ability to meet these challenges and recognizes the beneficial impact a successful diversity initiative will have on the morale, productivity, strategies and success of the IAHA.

The Committee will develop and disseminate relevant information to the Members. The Committee will also investigate and recommend ways IAHA can foster diversity in its membership and leadership by creating outreach programs to attract new members, to retain members, to encourage participation in IAHA committees and activities, and to develop leadership candidates.
